We have been very happy with the customer service at CubeSmart. When we had that big snow storm, they had some issues with their temperature control system. My husband and I both felt like they did everything in their power to make sure that things were as comfortable as possible for the people using the storage units. The manager at the location on Hosmer Street has been fantastic. She has gone above and beyond to help us out. I have even been in contact with some of the higher ups at the corporate office, and they have also been very accommodating. I would recommend CubeSmart to anybody that needs storage!!

Upon opening my storage unit I found the first of many dead mice. My unit had been infested with rodents. I lost thousands of dollars worth of items, and some sentimental, irreplaceable family heirlooms. I contacted their management office at which point I was directed to contact their protection plan (insurance dept.). I was quickly informed that their policy doesn’t cover rodent, pest damage. I also contacted their customer service dept. and was disregarded and immediately, told they can do nothing for me. I am extremely disappointed at how they handled the situation. I received no financial compensation for my losses. Furthermore, after taking a closer look at their google reviews this has happened REPEATEDLY, which means they do not take adequate steps to prevent rodent damage. I have rented from other companies and have NEVER had such a horrible experience. To all who take the time to read this review DO NOT RENT! In addition, CubeSmart customer service can save their copy/paste reply to this comment. You have no intention on remedying the situation. Don’t present yourselves (as a company) with a response that brings no solution to my traumatic experience.

I’m only giving this place one star because I have to to be able to leave a rating. This place is infested with mice and they knew they were and didn’t notify any of the tenants that trusted them with their belongings. Paying months of rent to this place to have everything ruined. Upon arrival of my unit as soon as I walked in there was a dead mouse and several others throughout the unit. Everything is saturated with mouse urine and droppings. Several things have been chewed on by the mice. I just don’t understand how they were fully aware of the infestation since they did tell me pest control had been out hence all of the dead mice, but failed to notify anyone renting from them so they could protect their own belongings. Instead they allowed many of tenants to get their belongings ruined so they could make money every month.

Andrew was very careful to point out the pros and cons of the particular unit I was getting. Was very clear on the instructions to get to my unit and how to use the locks. Very happy with the price I got and the service he provided. I'd recommend this place for storage.

Just a heads up if you plan on using the storage unit, they won’t tell you, but every four months they will keep upping the rent and there’s nothing you can do about it considering they do month-to-month contracts. highly recommend you go with any other company. Now for the staff those guys are awesome, the company itself is garbage.

Ken and Travis at the Hosmer St, Lansing Michigan location are a pleasure to work with. Moving interstate is not for sissies and these guys helped allay many of the worries associated with this. The units are nice. It is clean, and I never felt unsafe, even late at night. However, they increased the rent on my unit twice between March and October so that I was paying 70% more. It felt predatory. I get inflation, but not 70%. And they didn’t communicate the second increase. I am no longer renting a unit there because of this. ** Edit: CubeSmart's response is great - but I am going to say this again. The price increase on my unit went up by 70% between March and October of this year. And saying that I should talk to someone is silly. I DID talk to someone in the office, after trying for two weeks to connect with someone and finally happening to catch them in the office when I started to empty the unit. Their response? Energy prices. Inflation. Etc. So again - I can read. Expecting reasonable price increases annually makes sense. But 70% over 6 months is not reasonable. That's predatory.

We rented from this Cubesmart on Hosmer Street in East Lansing, Michigan— because our son was coming home for a summer break from MSU – go Spartans. I initially had difficulties registering with the website and the app. But with the help of the owner and the staff. It was remedied immediately. Thank you for the effort it was just the assistance I needed and the type of service I would expect. The location is immediately off the highway. I it is a clean facility. It is pretty secure. I would also like to point out this was a very reasonably priced storage facility. Again I would like to thank everyone that assisted me with my issues and help me with getting this location. In May, I PREPAID one year of storage AND parking. Last week I received notification, that I had to move my trailer because they want to build more units. I would have NEVER agreed or rented either unit as it is important for me to have both at same location. I will say the SERVICE at the location was fantastic. We needed climate controlled space for a little over a year after selling one house and then building another. All of our property came out just as it had gone in. Clean, dry, no sign of pests, etc. We were very pleased. That, however, is what we expected. What we didn't expect was the incredible service we received from Tabatha in the office. She is a true professional, and really cares about her customers. No joke, she even remembered our last name from over a year ago and this was not a scheduled visit. We hadn't even been there one time since we moved in. We showed up 1/2 hour before they even opened, and there she was, already there and assisting someone else. She just brings a nice, pleasant calm to the whole stressful process, which we really appreciated. Thank you Tabatha!

I was concerned with moving my Mother who had passed belongings to a storage unit. I didn't know if I would deal with rodents, rodent droppings or bugs. I was pleasantly surprised I found none of those things in my Mom's stuff. There were lots of dead flies in the unit and around it, but that was better than rodents!

The workers are wonderful and caring but the General Manager is something words can not describe... Makes me wonder if he or she has ever been in a hard spot at any point in time but by my guesses the answer is NO!!! Things happen my car broke down in the parking lot and while my husband was trying to fix it they threatened to tow it. Mind you I pay close to 100 a month on a storage unit and parking spot there well 2 days ago my car broke down again and a friend of ours was following my husband to make sure it he got it to the parking spot well my husband and friend had the police called on them for who knows what reason....

I signed up because there was a discount where I would pay $85/month but when I went to rent my unit I was told the discount was over and I had to pway $105 even though I reserved the unit during the discounted time. I had no choice because I had to move quickly of covid. Also when I picked up all of my belongings there was a sticky brown substance that dripped all over my belongings. Tv, bed ect. so be aware. The staff is friendly which is nice.

We reserved a unit based for a 1 bedroom or studio and when we arrived the space did not match the description. The local manager did not have another unit so we could not move in. She was understanding and acknowledged the bad description and talked with her district manager and they denied my refund. I never moved anything in and they failed to make it right after charging me $38. It’s the principle. Not providing outstanding customer service as advertised.

Made storage arrangement sight unseen. Pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and storage opportunities upon arrival. The only blip in my experience was having originally reserved one of the largest units available but released due to change in move-in date, was ultimately recommended to be down-sized. At move-in the unit recommended was not large enough leading to securing another unit. The second unit one unit over from the first was available and the issue was quickly resolved.but that's why I chose only 4 stars. More times than not, the customer is usually right.

I did not see anywhere that it was going to expire and I reserved the locker because of that price... I feel like I got robbed.. instead of paying $85/month now I have to pay $105.......Not thrilled. . UPDATE.. After taking my stuff out of the unit I realized there was something dark and sticky that drippedcall over my belonings while they were in there for 5 months. They didn't offer any kind of compensation or anything for the dripping all over my television, brand new bed and computer chair etc.. I will not be using them again.

Update: I have been here now for for about 5 months, and I am so glad I put my stuff here. Clean location, great staff, controlled temperature, easy to use website. You cannot go wrong. I have not yet stored my stuff at this location (still packing it up - will move it over there shortly), but I can tell you that the service provided by Tabatha (the office manager) was outstanding! She was welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient (answered all my questions to my satisfaction). The rates were hard to beat as well in the area. I expect I may need to store my extra stuff at this location for some time, but if my experience over the long run is anything like my onboarding experience, I am going to be a very happy client.

TABITHA BROWN REFURBISHES TABLES AND WILL STEAL THEM FROM YOU!! Wouldn’t ever recommend! Besides being in a very shady part of Lansing one of their employees, Tabitha Brown, ended up trying to steal two of our end tables claiming, “I have to be honest, I didn’t know if y’all was gonna come back and get these and I refurbish tables so yeah.” We got our tables back that she was trying to steal at least and we are working on filing an official complaint against her. Besides that when we arrived we had already preordered a moving dolly that they assured would be available to us exactly when we needed it, to our surprise when we arrived the dolly was not even at the same location we were at. All of that wouldn’t have been too big of a deal besides Tabitha acting rude, boisterous, and unapologetic, lecturing us on how she can’t do anything about it and if we really needed the dolly we could drive to another location and grab one. Seriously?! There also was a dead bird in our locker and THEIR BATHROOM ISN’T OPERATIONAL. There are far better storage units than these guys, go somewhere else and give me a thumbs up for saving you a giant headache.

The CubeSmart where I store my goods is very professional. The person that manages the facility is 100 percent on her job. She meaning Tabitha makes a person feel very comfortable about leaving you personal afects at that very facility. The promotions that CubeSmart offers Tabitha always mentions them to see if she can get to lease at the best price. I will always refer friends and family to CubeSmart.

Love the drive in bays and climate control. Everyone has been friendly, units themselves are fine. My issues: MICE. I just had to throw away a ton of my stuff thanks to the damage. Insurance I'm required to have and pay for does not cover this type of damage. Issue 2: bathroom is ALWAYS gross. I called corporate once, they tried to give me the runaround and when I finally said look, we pay a lot for this unit and you keep raising the price on us. We at least deserve a clean restroom. Went today to put in camping stuff for the season, found the bathroom gross yet again, like it had never been cleaned since I was there last. Then the fun surprise of mice droppings and my stuff all torn up...I just hope my couch is okay. Super bummed, we've been here for some time and really liked it until recently.

Poor Service! Had my rental agreement terminated with zero notification, even when my account was paid up to date. The only explanation they could give me was that they had new staff and that the manager had been on vacation. Also, found 2 dead mice in my unit. I notified staff of the problem and they told me that they have never had a rodent issue and handed me the insurance brochure. I called the insurance company that I pay for monthly, just for them to tell me that they do not cover rodent damage. I had to throw away my queen size mattress and a couple other pieces of furniture and I was never compensated for it.

New facility, cameras, climate controlled and the prices are ok but they have rodents!! Every unit on my floor has had their stuff ruined by mice. My things are covered in mice droppings. I mentioned this a few months ago and nothing has been done. It’s disappointing and unfortunately effects my review for them due to the fact that I will have to replace my things.

This place is awesome.. The staff is amazing especially Lura ..she explains the process very thoroughly and is very pleasant ..id recommend CubeSmart self storage to all my friends and family.. Cube smart storage on Hosmer Street are scammers. The girl who works there, Chaneita Wilson is very unprofessional, rude, and unethical.. She lied to me that she wss offering me a discount for a larger unit, she didn't hand me a printed document and used my signature which I had signed for the smaller unit for the larger one. She attached the sheet with my signature which I had signed for the smaller unit with the larger unit document. She had also given me a pamphlet in her writing with the unit no and pricing on it, along with her business card which she later denied. I have never experienced workers doing business lying and denying their own documentation and writing. They are charging me now double the price. I hope no one gets scammed, please make sure you don't walk out without getting a hard copy, make sure its the same document which you have signed. I will never recommend this cube smart on Hosmer Street in Lansing. Latest Update: These cubesmart person responding below my review assured me that someone will call me shortly and until now no one has contacted me. I have e-mailed to this cube smart person that I'm still awaing the phone call, none of my e-mails was returned. That's how these cube smart workers are. Another proof how dishonest and unprofessional they are.

Manager is amazing. Came in early hungover not excited to move. She checked me in my her self. Was very pleasant and nice. Then by herself attached the uhaul by herself! The manager. While she was dealing with a sea of other customers. Changed my day from bad to great. This women manager is the definition of a humble hard worker who is here to help and make everyone’s day better. It took a while to post this but I had ended up having to move out of my house in a couple of hours I lived about 500 feet from this building. I went in there and explained my situation and they were very helpful and empathetic about my situation. The 3 people who helped me names are Lura Porter, Chanita Wilson, and Ken Bosom, all 3 are extraordinarily amazing people and have outstanding customer service. Ken and Lura helped me get my storage unit and what size to get showed me what it looked like before I chose. Chanita helped me get my uhal van they all did it very fast and I got my storage unit and uhal in about 20 minutes. I had my 2 year old daughter with me and they helped distract her while we got things done. Which i thohhtb was awesome. The office was very clean neat and organized, a beautiful store. I ended up finding a place to put my things after I had left and I was able to get a refund for the unit! Everything was a very good price. Thank you again so much to Lura, Chanita & Ken for all your help you are all amazing people and I was lucky to have dealt with people like you! I would definitely 110% recommend this specific building to everyone who needs a storage unit or uhal!!

Brand new facility. Staff is great and knowledgeable. Old warehouse repurposed into climate controlled self storage. They sell boxes too. LOVE IT.
