Zero stars. Purchased the storage center and added cube storage units that made it nearly impossible to navigate the grounds in any vehicle larger than a sedan. Then raised the rent by nearly 70% and removed all amenities. Also did not return deposit or key to the lock that were collected by the previous owner.

I have been renting from shield for 3 years then we down graded to a cube at 90 a month then when cube smart bought it the prices went up 25 dollars and now I have to pay insurance. So yea will be emptying and will never use them again ... SHIELDS STORAGE WILL BE MISSED ... SHAME ON CUBE MART

I was customer of Shields Road Storage for a number of years where I was treated kindly and considerately by the owners and the staff. It was a convenient location with amenities not found at most other storage places, including electricity and trash removal. Then the business was sold and the new management came in with jack boots and thug tactics. No notice (to me) was given of the new management. I came in one day and the electricity was locked up and trash bin was removed. And, on top of that, a 23 plus percent increase in rental fees. I would NOT recommend this storage place to anyone unless you like to be abused with curt and uncaring management. The staff there (from the previous owner) are very nice and are having to deal with a completely different business model. I take my hat off to them.

I have nothing but great things to say about Shields Road Storage. The experience of almost 8 years with two climate controlled units has been exceptional. I never worried about the safety or security of our belongings be it from theft or weather conditions (leaks) or from pests. I never felt afraid accessing my units at night or during after-hours. And the staff has always been nothing but friendly, helpful, and gracious when I have done business or asked for assistance with them. I was always impressed that they have outside storage space for cars, campers, motorcycles, and boats. I have dealt with both office staff and maintenance staff and they were professional and really friendly. I am actually a bit sad leaving this place and experience and only doing so because we don’t need it anymore, not because of dissatisfaction. And I would definitely use them again if the occasion arises which I feel is the highest recommendation a client can give. Margie Hodgin

Shields Road Self Storage has to be one of the best I have ever used. They offer Climate Controlled units, outdoor units, and the only place in town offering outside parking for vehicles and trailers. The units are clean and well lit, and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! The security is top-notch with gates to the property and cameras recording every entry and exit. The staff is exceptional and are glad to help people find exactly what meets their needs. I would recommend this storage facility to anyone!

I was struggling to find a large climate control and Rhonda continuously updated me as she found out more information on upcoming availability. Great to deal with -- I secured a 10x20 Climate Controlled Unit -- I thought this would be big enough and as it turned out it was not. It was the end of day and already signed the paperwork for the unit and everyone was gone. I called the next morning and they were all so great to work with and tried to find me a larger unit or two units that could possibly work.. unfortunately we could not find anything that would work but they refunded me and understood the situation. When other storage needs come up I am positive that I will call and store with Shields Road Self Storage if a unit is available. Thanks again and sorry it did not work out this time around
